The NKU women's basketball team fell to 8-3 overall, 2-1 in the GLVC.

QUINCY, Ill. – The Northern Kentucky University women's basketball team watched its seven-game winning streak come to a halt Sunday afternoon during an 80-72 loss at Quincy.
Ali Schwagmeyer poured in 23 points to lead Quincy, which improved to 10-1 overall, 2-1 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference. The Lady Hawks shot 52.4 percent from the field and finished with a 40-22 scoring advantage in the paint to end NKU's winning streak.
After NKU cut Quincy's lead to 72-67 with 3:32 remaining on a 3-pointer by
Sadie Bowling, Schwagmeyer scored a pair of baskets to extend the Lady Hawk advantage to 76-67. Schwagmeyer finished 11-for-25 from the field and also grabbed seven rebounds.
Courtney Shuman added 20 points for Quincy, which is 9-0 at home this season. The Lady Hawks, who extended their winning streak to five, also held NKU to just 41.1 percent shooting from the field.
Bowling scored 18 points to lead NKU, which is 8-3 overall, 2-1 in the GLVC.
Casse Mogan finished with 13 points, while teammates
Kelsey Simpson,
Jaimie Hamlet and
Stephanie Hodges all added 11 points. Hodges netted nine points in the first half.
Kendra Caldwell grabbed 10 rebounds to lead NKU, which had not played since Dec. 11. Quincy owned a 40-39 edge at halftime and maintained the lead the entire second half.
NKU still owns a 22-9 lead in the all-time series against Quincy. The Norse are now 6-5 all-time in the Pepsi Arena.
NKU concludes the two-game road trip Tuesday night with a GLVC contest at Lewis.
