Shelby Buschur hit .706 with 13 kills Saturday night as the Northern Kentucky University volleyball team posted a 25-21, 25-14, 25-22 victory over William Jewell.
Kim Nemcek added 10 kills and 10 digs for NKU, which is ranked 13th nationally in the latest NCAA Division II poll. The Norse held William Jewell to a .077 hitting percentage and improved to 14-2 overall, 8-2 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference.
Nemcek, a senior middle hitter, now has 975 career kills at NKU. She is looking to become the 15th player in Norse history to reach the 1,000-kills club. NKU senior

NKU rallied from a 20-18 deficit in the third set by closing with a 7-2 run. The Norse scored five straight points to take a 23-20 lead and capped the victory when
Sarah Drennen converted an attack for a 25-22 win.
Kylee Tarantino collected 16 digs to lead the NKU defense. Tarantino, a junior libero, now has 880 career digs.

Jenna Schreiver dished out 36 assists. Drennen and
Gennie Galfano each finished with six kills for the Norse.
William Jewell dropped to 9-6 overall, 5-5 in the GLVC. NKU is now 2-0 all-time against the Cardinals, who are in their first year in the GLVC.
NKU concludes the road trip Sunday with a 2 p.m. match at Rockhurst. The Norse will then compete in the GLVC/Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Crossover Oct. 14-15 in Aurora, Ill.
