DAYTON, Ohio – Casse Mogan had 15 points to lead the Northern Kentucky University women's basketball team in an 88-34 exhibition loss to Dayton on Tuesday night.

Mogan went 4-for-11 from the field and hit all six of her free throws for a Norse squad that struggled to find the basket, shooting 19.6 percent from the field.  Mogan also picked up five of NKU's 31 rebounds.

Ellen Holton added nine points and three rebounds, while Sadie Bowling had four points and a team-high six rebounds.

Dayton, the preseason favorite to win the Atlantic 10 Conference, put the game away in the middle stages with a 33-7 run that crossed the halftime intermission.  De'Sarae Chambers lead the Flyers' effort with 16 points on 7-of-8 shooting.  Justine Raterman and Patrice Lalor each added 15 points.

The game was the first between the Norse and the Flyers since 1984, a contest which Dayton won by an 85-62 margin.

NKU closes out the exhibition schedule on Saturday when the Norse travel to take on Cincinnati.  Tipoff is scheduled for 7 p.m.  The 2011-12 regular season begins on Nov. 15 when the Norse entertain Virginia-Wise.
