INDIANAPOLIS – Northern Kentucky University placed four players in double figures Saturday night, and the unbeaten Norse rolled to an 80-63 win over Indianapolis in Nicoson Hall.

Tony Rack (pictured left) scored 19 points as NKU improved to 6-0 overall, 2-0 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference. Rack buried five shots from 3-point range en route to tying his career-high point total.

The Moeller High School graduate also scored 19 points last season against West Liberty State.

“Rack felt it from the outside, and we did a great job of finding the open man,” NKU head coach Dave Bezold said after his team shot 10-for-24 from 3-point range. “Our shooting in the first half helped us get a double-digit lead, and we did a great job of closing this game out in the second half.”

NKU was 7-for-14 from 3-point range in the first half and owned a 39-29 lead at the break. Stretch Watson scored 12 of his 14 points in the first half. The 6-foot-7 junior also grabbed seven rebounds and blocked three shots.

Jon Van Hoose finished with 15 points for the Norse, while teammate Ethan Faulkner added 12 points and eight assists. DeAndre Nealy pulled down seven rebounds and collected three blocks.

“Stretch (pictured right) and DeAndre really did a nice job against a group that had beaten the No. 1 team in the nation two nights ago,” Bezold said, noting Indianapolis knocked off top-ranked Bellarmine on Thursday night. “Ethan played a great floor game and did a good job defensively. It was a great team victory, with a lot of contributions from everyone.”

NKU made 24-of-30 free throws, while Indianapolis (5-2 overall, 1-1 GLVC) missed its first 10 free throws and finished just 2-for-14 from the line.

Adrian Moss led Indianapolis with 17 points and seven assists.

The Norse are now 36-29 all-time against Indianapolis. NKU is 13-19 all-time against Indianapolis in Nicoson Hall.

NKU plays host to Ohio Midwestern at 7 p.m. Tuesday in The Bank of Kentucky Center.
