HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. - Northern Kentucky University volleyball standout Kim Nemcek is No. 2 nationally in hitting percentage in the latest NCAA Division II statistics.

Nemcek, a senior middle hitter from Geneva, Ill., is attacking at a .525 clip through the first 10 matches of the season for unbeaten NKU (10-0). Danielle Selkridge of Tampa leads the nation with a .542 hitting percentage.

Nemcek enters this weekend with 902 career kills at NKU. She is looking to become the 15th player in history to join the Norse's 1,000-kills club.

Nemcek also played one season at Winona State, where she recorded 275 kills as a freshman. She has recorded a total of 1,177 career kills as a collegiate player.

NKU junior setter Jenna Schreiver is No. 4 nationally in assists per set at 11.97. Schreiver has directed the Norse offense to a .348 hitting percentage, which is No. 2 in the national team statistics.

NKU is one of 12 unbeaten 12 teams remaining in Division II. The Norse are ranked 12th nationally in the latest Division II poll.

A tough road trip to the north awaits NKU this weekend, beginning Friday night at Wisconsin-Parkside. The Norse conclude the trip Saturday by taking on No. 22 Lewis in Romeoville, Ill.

NKU is 30-2 all-time against Wisconsin-Parkside. The Norse have defeated the Rangers nine consecutive times. Wisconsin-Parkside's last win against NKU came on Oct. 1, 2004, when the Rangers swept the Norse in Kenosha, Wis.

The Norse hold a 30-17 advantage in the all-time series against Lewis, but the Flyers have beaten the Norse in the last two meetings.
