Casse Mogan had the last laugh Thursday after leading NKU past Indianapolis.
HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. – The Northern Kentucky University women's basketball team plays host to Saint Joseph's at 1 p.m. Saturday.
NKU is 17-5 overall, 10-4 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference. Saint Joseph's is 13-9 overall, 7-7 in the GLVC.

THE SERIES: NKU holds a 41-13 lead in the all-time series against Saint Joseph's. The Norse have beaten the Pumas 17 consecutive times at home. Saint Joseph's last win in Highland Heights, Ky., came on Feb. 13, 1993, when the Pumas pulled out a 67-65 victory against NKU in Regents Hall.
WORKING OVERTIME: Earlier this season on Dec. 1 in Rensselaer, Ind.,
Casse Mogan scored a school-record 37 points to lead NKU to a 106-101 triple-overtime victory against Saint Joseph's. Mogan also grabbed a career-best 13 rebounds and dished out six assists in that win.
Ellen Holton added a career-high 23 points for the Norse, who watched Saint Joseph's send the game into the third overtime when Britney Cruse buried a desperation 3-pointer at the buzzer to tie the score at 92-all. The Norse finished with a whopping 55-25 advantage on the glass, but 27 NKU turnovers helped keep Saint Joseph's in the game.
NORSE TAME 'HOUNDS: Kristin Turner of Indianapolis won the scoring battle with
Casse Mogan, but NKU walked away with the victory Thursday night during a 71-68 triumph over Indianapolis.
Mogan blocked a shot by Turner and forced her to turn the ball over in the final six seconds of the game to seal the victory for the Norse. Mogan scored 24 of her 33 points in the first half as NKU took a 30-29 lead into the break. She finished 12-for-17 from the floor, including 4-for-4 from behind the arc.
Mogan also moved into seventh place on the NKU all-time scoring list with 1,447 career points. She passed Pam King (1,422 points) and is now closing in on Linda Honigford (1,482 points) for sixth place in school history.
Turner scored a game-high 36 points, which tied the women's record for most points scored in The Bank of Kentucky Center. On March 13, 2009, Katie Cezat of Hillsdale (Mich.) scored 36 points in the first round of the NCAA Division II Tournament in a 73-72 loss against Indianapolis in The Bank of Kentucky Center.
MO TIES NKU MARK: Mogan's 33-point effort tied the most by an NKU player in The Bank of Kentucky Center. On Dec. 10, 2009, Brandi Rayburn also poured in 33 points during a 70-54 win over Saint Joseph's.
HOPPER INSIDE: NKU's
Tiara Hopper scored 12 points and grabbed six rebounds in the win against Indianapolis. Hopper was a force inside against the Greyhounds and was 5-for-7 from the field.
BOWLING OVER INDY: NKU's
Sadie Bowling grabbed 14 rebounds against Indianapolis. Bowling averages 8.4 rebounds per contest, which ranks No. 3 in the GLVC. Earlier this season against Kentucky Wesleyan, Bowling hauled down a career-high 18 rebounds.
Bowling has seven double-figure rebounding games this season.
BENNETT THE PASSER: NKU's
Maria Bennett dished out a Norse career-high five assists against Indianapolis. A transfer from Wright State, Bennett recorded five assists while playing at the Division I school against Loyola (Ill.) on Jan. 14, 2010.
