NORSE NOTES (FIVE STARTERS & ONE)

1• NKU is 4-9 after posting a 67-53 win over Lipscomb on Friday night in The Bank of Kentucky Center, the Norse's first-ever home victory as a Division I program.

2• Freshmen Jack Flournoy and Tyler White each tossed in a career-high 18 points to lead NKU.

3• Flournoy came off the bench and poured in 11 points during a 14-4 run that turned a 9-8 deficit into a 22-13 lead. He started the run with a 3-point field goal and capped the spurt with another trey.

4• Eshaunte Jones added 11 points in the NKU win.

5• This is the first meeting between NKU and Stetson.

+1• NKU is 10-4 all-time in games played in the state of Florida, including 1-1 this season.

TREY BARRAGE: NKU buried a total of 13 shots from 3-point range to key its 67-53 win over Lipscomb last Friday. The Norse knocked down 10 treys in the first half to build a 44-28 lead and coasted to their first-ever home victory as a Division I program. The NKU single-game record for made 3-pointers is 19, set against Indiana-East on Dec. 19, 2007.

INSTANT OFFENSE: NKU freshman forward Jack Flournoy came off the bench and scored a career-high 18 points to help ignite the win over Lipscomb. He netted 11 points during a 14-4 Norse run that turned a 9-8 deficit into a 22-13 lead.

Flournoy drained a trio of 3-pointers in the first half and finished 4-for-5 from long range. Going into the Lipscomb game, he was 3-for-19 from behind the arc.

FABULOUS FROSH: NKU freshman guard Tyler White netted a career-high 18 points against Lipscomb. Since entering the starting lineup, White has averaged 10.5 points per game. The Lima, Ohio, native knocked down four 3-pointers against Lipscomb and averages 7.0 points per contest. He is No. 2 in the A-Sun in 3-point shooting at 41.0 percent.

ROLE REVERSAL: NKU senior guard Eshaunte Jones has scored in double figures in all four games since becoming the Norse's sixth man. Jones is averaging 16.5 points per game coming off the bench, and he leads the team in scoring at 13.6 ppg.

PASSING FANCY: NKU freshman guard Nate Snodgrass dished out a career-high seven assists - all in the first half - against Lipscomb. Snodgrass is scoring 4.5 points per game and averages 1.6 assists per contest.

SONNY OUTLOOK: NKU has played twice on the A-Sun Game of the Week with former Auburn head coach Sonny Smith as the color commentator, and the Norse have won both times. Smith built Auburn into a Southeastern Conference power during the 1980s with players such as Charles Barkley, Chuck Person and Chris Morris. 

IN THE BANK: NKU is now 54-9 all-time in The Bank of Kentucky Center.

BEZOLD IN JANUARY: NKU head coach Dave Bezold owns a 50-26 record in the month of January during his career. Bezold owns a 165-88 record in nine seasons at NKU.

EVEN THE SERIES: NKU and Lipscomb had not met since the 1971-72 season until last Friday night. The Norse and Bisons - who met three times in 1971-72, with Lipscomb winning twice - are now tied at 2-all in the all-time series.

NORSE FLOOR GENERAL: NKU senior point guard Ethan Faulkner enters Thursday's game with 626 points and 301 assists in his career. He has started 59 times and played in 103 games during his four years with the Norse.

STEAL THE SHOW: NKU junior guard Chad Jackson is No. 2 in the A-Sun in steals with an average of 1.8 spg. The Norse are averaging 7.5 steals against conference teams, which is tied for third in the A-Sun.

FLORIDA GULF COAST NEXT: The Norse conclude the two-game swing through Florida on Saturday by playing Florida Gulf Coast at 5:15 p.m.

NKU returns home next week to meet Mercer (Jan. 24) and Kennesaw State (Jan. 26). The Kennesaw State game is also part of the 2013 NKU Homecoming festivities. The 11th Annual Alumni Chili Cookoff will be held from 3:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. on the west concourse. The alumni homecoming party will follow the men's game in the Vault.
