Hannon finished with 16 kills and hit .438 for Cleveland State (8-2), the defending champion of the Horizon League. Kauth added 14 kills and attacked at a .375 clip as the Vikings evened the all-time series with the Norse at two wins apiece.

Jenna Ruble and Jayden Julian each collected nine kills for Northern Kentucky (4-5), which had outlasted host Cincinnati in five sets earlier Saturday. Ruble hit .381 for the match and had two blocks.

Keely Creamer added seven kills and four blocks for the Norse, who attacked at a .192 clip for the match. Megan Wanstrath had eight kills and hit .250.

Kaela Jo Freppon finished with 14 digs to lead the defense, while Anna Prickel collected 13 digs. The Norse rallied from deficits in the opening two sets and actually owned a 25-24 lead in the second frame after a pair of Julian kills, but Cleveland State ran off three straight points to win by a 27-25 score.

Hannon ended both the first and second sets with two straight kills.

Ruble and Wanstrath were both named to the all-tournament team. Cleveland State's Kauth earned most valuable player honors, while Viking teammates Hannon and Nikki Holmes also were selected all-tournament.

Northern Kentucky begins Atlantic Sun Conference play Wednesday night with a home match against Lipscomb in Regents Hall. The opening serve is scheduled for 6 p.m.
