BUZZER BEATER: Jake Giesler's follow-up basket with 1.2 seconds remaining gave NKU a 67-65 overtime victory at Stetson on Wednesday night. Giesler grabbed an offensive rebound with time running down and followed with a layup to snap a 65-all tie and give NKU the road victory. Stetson's Willie Green missed a 3-pointer at the buzzer, sealing the win for the Norse.

Giesler became the second Norse to win a game this season with a last-second shot. On Dec. 18, Jordan Jackson hit a jumper with 0.9 seconds remaining to lift NKU to a 69-67 overtime victory over Hampton.

NORSE WORK OT: NKU is now 3-0 in overtime games this season. The Norse are 49-35 all-time in overtime games. NKU has won five consecutive overtime games dating back to the 2010-11 season. The Norse have not lost an overtime game since March 4, 2011, when Kentucky Wesleyan pulled out a 91-89 win against NKU in St. Louis, Mo.

COLE ON A ROLL: NKU freshman Deontae Cole tied his career high with nine points against Stetson. Cole buried a pair of 3-pointers and also converted all three of his free-throw attempts. Two days earlier, Cole came off the bench and drained a pair of treys at Florida Gulf Coast. Cole averages 3.3 points per game and is perfect (5-for-5) at the free-throw line this season.

CAMPS ON THE BOARDS: Norse freshman Daniel Camps grabbed a career-best eight rebounds at Stetson. He also played a career-high 28 minutes and finished with six points. Two days earlier at Florida Gulf Coast, Camps scored seven points. He averages 4.8 points per game.

THE LAST TIME AGAINST JACKSONVILLE: On March 2, 2013, NKU rallied from that 13-point deficit in the final 2:36 of the game to post a 66-62 win over Jacksonville in front of a record-crowd of 6,719 in The Bank of Kentucky Center. It was the biggest crowd to ever watch a regular-season college basketball game in the facility, which opened in 2008.

Down by 13 points with 2:36 left on the clock, Northern Kentucky applied full-court pressure and forced six turnovers to ignite a game-ending 21-4 run. Todd Johnson began the Norse rally with a 3-pointer while being fouled.

Chad Jackson led the Norse with 19 points, and he also grabbed eight rebounds. Stretch Watson hauled in 11 rebounds and dished out four assists, while Ethan Faulkner added 12 points and five assists.

Keith McDougal scored 21 points and grabbed 13 rebounds to lead Jacksonville. Jarvis Haywood added 11 points for the Dolphins.

NKU turned the ball over five times in that game, compared to 19 by Jacksonville. The Norse finished with a 23-2 edge in points off turnovers.

SATURDAY'S PROMOTION: NKU will conduct Shoot-A-Round Saturday for the kids after the game. Kids will be allowed on the court to shoot baskets and get autographs from their favorites Norse players.
