Angulo goes out on top as MTennis falls at Xavier

CINCINNATI – Christopher Angulo ended his Northern Kentucky University tennis career on top, picking up a come-from-behind three-set victory over Jeremy Schneider of Xavier, as the Norse fell in the team match, 5-2.

The teams concluded the scheduled match from April 15, which was suspended due to continued rain after NKU had won the doubles point.

In an exceptionally close match between local rivals, three different singles matches came down to a third set. Gabriel Chaves Araujo topped Adrian Isache, 3-6, 6-4, 6-2, at No. 4, while at No. 5, Michael Moe came back to take a 4-6, 6-4, 6-3 win over Jack Carney.

Angulo's win over Schneider came in the No. 2 flight with Angulo going over in tiebreaker fashion, 4-6, 6-2, 7-6 (7-1), to take his singles record on the season to 14-9 and end his NKU career with 46 singles victories.

NKU concludes the 2015 season with a 7-14 record.
