HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. – Horizon League foes Youngstown State and Cleveland State await the Northern Kentucky University men's tennis team this weekend. The Norse take on YSU on Friday at 6 p.m. then travel to CSU for a 10 a.m. match on Saturday.

The Norse enter League play with a 3-3 overall record in dual matches this season.

Junior Mate Virag was named the Horizon League Tennis Player of the Week on March 22 after picking up a top-flight singles victory against Dayton's Jordan Benjamin. The win helped NKU capture its first dual match victory on the road.

Senior Jody Maginley captured his 30th career singles win at Dayton when he battled to a three-set victory at the No. 2 flight. He leads the Norse with nine wins this season including four this spring.

The Penguins enter the match with an overall record of 4-10. The squad went 4-2 in the Horizon League last year. Bassem El Mekawi has a team-high 14 singles victories on the year and has split time between the fourth and fifth flight.

Cleveland State sits at 10-7 overall as they open Horizon League play against NKU. Saturday's contest will be the Vikings' first match at their new indoor facility - the Medical Mutual Tennis Pavilion. CSU's Benjamin Slade has a team-high 17 singles wins including 10 in dual matches after competing primarily at the fifth flight. Mirko Radosevic is tied with Colton Buffington with a team-best three wins at No. 1 singles.

Following the pair of weekend matches, the Norse return to action the weekend of Saturday, April 2 when they close out an eight-match road swing with matches against Valparaiso, UIC and No. 12 Northwestern.
