YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – Mate Virag, Lukas Clemens and Jody Maginley each captured singles and doubles wins on Friday evening at Boardman Tennis Center to lift the Northern Kentucky University men's tennis team over Youngstown State, 4-3.

The Horizon League win moves NKU to 4-3 on the season and 1-0 in League play while the Penguins dip to 4-11 overall and 0-1 in the League.

The Norse used victories at No. 1 and No. 2 doubles to come away with the doubles point for a 1-0 advantage heading into singles play. The team of Virag and Clemens posted a 6-4 victory while Maginley and Nick Lang closed out a 7-6 victory.

NKU's top three singles flights came away with wins in straight sets to seal the win.

Virag cruised to his fifth win in the last six matches, defeating Hugo Morth 6-4, 6-1 at No. 1 singles.

Maginley followed in the No. 2 flight, taking down Matthew Kritzinger 6-2, 7-5, to match Virag with five wins in the last six matches.

Clemens defeated Luke Purser 6-4, 6-1 at No. 3 singles to round out NKU's individual victories.
