MTEN concludes regular season on Sunday

HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. – The Northern Kentucky men's tennis team plays host to Green Bay on Sunday at 10 a.m. at Joyce Yeager Tennis Complex for the final regular-season match.

Following Sunday's contest, the squad will head to the Horizon League Tennis Championship on April 29-May 1 in Ann Arbor, Michigan. NKU clinched a tournament berth with a 4-3 win over Detroit on April 10.

The Norse entered the weekend in third place in the Horizon League standings with a 3-2 League record and 8-5 overall mark.

Lukas Clemens is currently riding a team-best five-match win streak for a 7-3 mark in dual matches this season. Five of his victories have come at the No. 3 flight.

Mate Virag follows Clemens with a four-match win streak and team-high 10 wins for a 10-3 record this spring after competing exclusively at the top-flight.

Senior Jody Maginley has gone 6-3 at the No. 2 flight this spring en route to a 9-4 overall record in dual matches.

Green Bay, the defending Horizon League champion, is currently ranked second in the HL, sporting a 4-1 League record. The Phoenix are 11-6 overall this season. Leo Gomez Islinger has a team-best 11-5 record in dual matches. Six of his wins have come at the No. 1 flight while he is 5-1 at No. 2. In doubles play, Joey Leto and Howard Scott have dropped just three matches for a 13-3 record at No. 2.
