HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. – The Northern Kentucky University softball team opens its final homestand of the 2016 season on Tuesday afternoon when the Norse welcome in IUPUI for a nonconference doubleheader. First pitch is scheduled for 2 p.m.

Last Time Out
The Norse took one of three games against Cleveland State over the weekend, using a four-run third inning to post a 4-3 win on Saturday. Dani Devlin drove in three runs over the weekend, including a two-hit performance against in the first game of the doubleheader on Saturday. Seven different Norse players recorded a hit in the team's 10-hit victory. Ashlynn Roberts appeared out of the bullpen to capture her first collegiate save after getting the final two outs of the game.

Scouting IUPUI
The Jaguars come into the doubleheader having won five of their last seven games to bring their season win total to 15-28. Taylor Chitwood leads the team in batting average with .333 and has 36 runs batted in. Ali Mosier leads the team in home runs with nine and in total hits with 47. Brooke Boetjer has a 3.13 earned run average with eight wins on the year. Kaitlynn Moody is second on the team with a 3.19 earned run average. As a whole, the pitching staff has held opponents to a .276 batting average.

The Series
These two games will be the seventh and eighth games in the series between the Norse and Jaguars. The two teams last faced each other last season in a doubleheader in Indianapolis. The Norse lost both games of the doubleheader by a score of 5-2 and 7-3, respectively. In the two games last season, Taylor Chitwood drove in two runs while teammate Eryn Dillon drove in three.
