HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky.- The Northern Kentucky University softball team will open up the final weekend home series of the season when the Norse take on Green Bay. The action begins on Friday with a doubleheader at 3 p.m. and wraps up on Saturday at 1 p.m. in a single game.

Last Time Out
On Tuesday, the Norse split a doubleheader with nonconference opponent IUPUI. The Norse lost the first game 2-1 and won the second game 3-0.
Kate Bartolovich lined a solo home run over the field fence, her fifth on the season, to account for NKU's scoring in the opener.
Dani Devlin's two-run home run over the fence in right-center field the Norse a 3-0 in the nightcap before rain called an end to the contest.
Jordan Harbacek struck out five while picking up her second shutout of the season.

Scouting Green Bay
Green Bay comes into the weekend with a 16-28 overall record and an even 7-7 record in the Horizon League, having lost four of their last six games entering this weekend. Brennan Engel leads the team in batting average with a .337 and in runs batted in with 27 while teammate Allie Taylor leads the team with six home runs. Bailey Smaney leads the pitching staff for the Phoenix, having appeared in 23 games with 21 starts. She owns a 4.53 ERA in 111 innings pitched and has struck out 35 batters on the season.

The Series
This weekend series will mark the first time that these two teams have met. This is Northern Kentucky's first season competing in the Horizon League and their fourth and final season before becoming full NCAA Division I members.
