HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. – A total of 21 Northern Kentucky men's basketball games are set to broadcast digitally on either ESPN+ or ESPN3 this season, with The Worldwide Leader in Sports announcing the programming schedule Thursday afternoon.
NKU will make six appearances on ESPN3 and 15 on ESPN+, which can be accessed through the ESPN app that is available on an array of devices, including smart phones, streaming devices and game consoles. Service costs $4.99 per month or $49.99 for an annual subscription.
The slate of games on the digital networks kicks off with NKU's home opener against Wilmington on Nov. 6 and concludes with the season finale at Green Bay on March 2. Both contests will air on ESPN+
Three nonconference road games are also slated for the digital networks - Northern Illinois and Morehead State on ESPN+ and UCF on ESPN3.
Highlighting the home lineup is an ESPN+ showdown against UMBC, which became the first 16-seed to top a No. 1 seed in the NCAA tournament last year, and the Horizon League opener against IUPUI, also scheduled for ESPN+. The Norse also square off against Oakland on ESPN3 on Feb. 9, NKU's Homecoming.
In addition to the 21 games on the digital platforms, Northern Kentucky will face Wright State on ESPN's over-the-air networks. The home game at BB&T Arena on Jan. 11 will air on ESPN2, while the return game at Wright State's Nutter Center on Feb. 15 is slated for ESPNU.
