@NKUNorseWBB wins third-straight game with 64-60 victory over Detroit Mercy

HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. – The Northern Kentucky University women's basketball team won its third-straight game with a 64-60 victory over Detroit Mercy on Saturday afternoon. The Norse improve to 8-17 overall and 6-8 in the Horizon League. Detroit Mercy falls to 1-23 and 1-12 in league play.
 
STAT LEADERS
  • Jazmyne Geist led the Norse with a career-high 14 points. She also had seven rebounds in the contest.
  • Mikayla Terry had 12 points, six rebounds and five assists.
  • Taryn Taugher also had 12 points and added two steals.
  • Kailey Coffey contributed seven points and seven rebounds, along with three steals and two blocks.
  • Grayson Rose added seven points, five rebounds and a career-best four blocks.
FIRST HALF SUMMARY
  • Detroit Mercy started the game on an 8-0 run.
  • The Norse battled back and went on a 9-0 run to take a 9-8 lead. NKU took a 13-11 lead into the second quarter.
  • NKU was ahead 22-19 in the second quarter, but Detroit Mercy proceeded to go on a 7-0 run to take a 26-22 lead. The Titans took a 33-29 advantage into halftime.
