PITTSBURGH – Northern Kentucky men's tennis fell to Duquesne on the road on Saturday evening, 6-1. The Norse fall to 2-4 on the season, while the Dukes moved on to 5-4.
Match Notables
- The Norse dropped the doubles point with setbacks in the No. 2 and 3 matches.
- Anthony Bosch was the only Norse to register a win, edging Dane Bendel in the No. 6 singles match in tiebreak, 7-6(5), 4-6, 10-6.
- Andrew Niehaus also had a tight match against Adam Blasinsky in the top match, falling in three sets, 6-0, 4-6, 6-3.
- Though he fell in two sets, Blaine Carr went extra games against Drew Akins in the No. 2 singles match, 7-6(4), 7-5.
- Jorge Rodriguez Agudo, Felipe Hidalgo and Chris Murray all fell in straight sets in the No. 3-5 matches.
The Norse remain on the East Coast to face St. Francis (Pa.) tomorrow at 1 p.m. The Red Flash hold a 1-8 record this spring with the lone win coming by way of a 4-3 victory over Bucknell on Feb. 16. NKU will be the fourth Horizon League opponent that St. Francis faces this season with an early season loss to Wright State and its most recent setbacks coming against Detroit Mercy and Youngstown State. First serve is scheduled for 1 p.m.
