HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. – Northern Kentucky's men's tennis continues home action against nearby foe Thomas More on Friday, Feb. 9. First serve against the Saints is slated for 7 p.m. ET from Five Seasons Sports Club in Crestview Hills, Kentucky.
NKU picked up its first win of the season last week with a 7-0 decision over Pikeville. Two Norse recorded their first career singles wins in the spring season with
Felipe Hidalgo blanking Hassan Haiden in the No. 4 match while
Anthony Bosch took a 6-2, 6-0 win over Kenton Hall in the No. 5 match.
Jorge Rodriguez Agudo is the only member of the team to have two singles wins this season as he took down Devon Sgubin in the No. 3 singles match, and
Andrew Niehaus and
Blaine Carr won in the No. 1 and 2 flights, respectively.
The Saints are riding back-to-back 9-0 sweeps coming into the weekend, as NCAA Division III plays to nine points with each doubles match counting as a point as opposed to the Division I standard of the three doubles matches counting as one point. Thomas More has used different singles lineups in each of its three matches, with the only consistency being junior Derrick Kwok at the top of the lineup.
