DAYTON, Ohio – Northern Kentucky men's tennis fell in a 7-0 Horizon League opener to Wright State on Saturday evening. The squad drops to 2-7 while the Raiders move to 9-6.
Match Notables
- Wright State claimed all three doubles matches, with 6-3 victories in the top two flights and a 6-1 win in the No. 3 match.
- Chris Murray was the only Norse to claim a set win, taking the first off Marcel Ueltzhoeffer, 6-3, in the No. 5 singles match. Ueltzhoffer answered back with a 6-3 second set and won the tiebreak, 10-5.
- Jorge Rodriguez Agudo had a tight opening set against Param Pun in the No. 3 spot, extending the first set but ultimately falling 7-6(3). Pun went on to take the match in two with a 6-2 second set.
The Norse continue their Horizon League slate next Saturday and Sunday, March 31 and April 1. NKU first plays UIC on the road at 2 p.m. CT/3 p.m. ET on Saturday and wrap up the weekend at 1 p.m. on Sunday at IUPUI.
