Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

Late goal by Kailey Ivins lifts @NKUNorseWSOC past Ohio, 3-2

ATHENS, Ohio – The Northern Kentucky University women's soccer team earned its first road victory of the season with a 3-2 win at Ohio on Friday. Kailey Ivins scored the game-winning goal in the 89th minute. The Norse improve their record to 3-2 on the year, while Ohio falls to 1-3-1.

"Today we faced a very good Ohio team in their home opener," said NKU head coach Bob Sheehan. "Coming off an inspiring victory over Xavier and a disappointing overtime loss to Cincinnati, this match had the potential for a letdown.  However, our team played with the competitiveness and intensity that will be required to be successful.  Our defense was again strong. Sam Duwel was fantastic with two assists tonight. Chloe Mills scored another quality goal. Emily Soltes demonstrated pace and quality in finishing the second goal from a fantastic service by Ally Perkins. Kailey Ivins worked so hard the entire game, and it was great to see her display such composure for the game winner. An outstanding team effort overall."
