NKU announces Super Saturday promotion; join @NKUNorseMBB in its drive for the #HLMBB regular-season title

HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. – Fans can help the Northern Kentucky men's basketball team in its quest for back-to-back Horizon League regular-season titles by joining the team for Super Saturdays. The Norse have three Saturday games remaining on the docket and fans are encouraged to be a part of the excitement at BB&T Arena as tickets for any of the three Super Saturday games will be on sale for just $9 through Saturday, Jan. 20.

Tickets can be purchased by entering the code "SUPER" when ordering online through Ticketmaster.

The first Super Saturday is a Jan. 26 matchup against Milwaukee, where the first 1,500 fans will receive a 3'x5' NKU flag. Homecoming, always a raucous environment at BB&T Arena, is scheduled for Feb. 9 against Oakland. Northern Kentucky will recognize its 2019 Hall of Fame class during the game. Finally, senior day is set for Feb. 23 against Cleveland State. Drew McDonald jersey rally towels will be distributed to the first 1,500 fans.

All three games will also feature Shootaround Saturday, where kids will have the opportunity to shoot a basket on the court and then get autographs from Norse players.

Northern Kentucky sits at a 14-4 overall and 4-1 in the Horizon League. NKU is coming off of a thrilling 68-64 win over Wright State last Friday, where nearly 6,000 fans filled into BB&T Arena, creating a home-court advantage to help the Norse win their 15th-straight home game, the 10th-longest home winning streak in the nation.

Preseason Horizon League Player of the Year Drew McDonald leads NKU averaging 18.8 points and 10.1 rebounds per game. McDonald is also a candidate for the Naismith Hall of Fame Power Forward of the Year and Lou Henson Player of the Year, given annually to the nation's best mid-major player.

McDonald is joined by three other Norse averaging double figures, including Tyler Sharpe, who is pouring in 13.9 points per game. Jalen Tate contributes 13.3 points, 4.8 rebounds and team-high 3.9 assists per game, while Dantez Walton chimes in with 11.3 points.

NKU is the first program in Division I history to win a league tournament (2017), league regular season (2018) and play in both the NCAA Tournament (2017) and NIT (2018) in its first two years with active Division I status.

The Super Saturday ticket offer is valid through 11:59 p.m. Sunday, January 20. Be sure to secure your tickets to be a part of the excitement of Norse men's basketball at BB&T Arena.
