Vogt tallies career night in @NKUNorseMBB’s 87-65 win over Green Bay

HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. – The Northern Kentucky University men's basketball team rolled past Green Bay on Thursday evening by a final score of 87-65. The Norse improve to 17-4 overall and 7-1 in the Horizon League. The Phoenix drop to 10-11 overall and 4-4 in league play.
 
STATS LEADERS
  • Chris Vogt had himself a night with a career-high in points, rebounds and assists. He registered a team-high 20 points, 14 rebounds and three blocks while adding three assists. His double-double was the first of his career.
  • Dantez Walton added 17 points, six assists, three rebounds and two steals.
  • Tyler Sharpe chipped in 14 points, four rebounds and four steals.
  • Jalen Tate recorded 12 points, five rebounds and three assists.
  • Drew McDonald was also in double figures with 11 points, and he added five rebounds.
 
TURNING POINT
  • The Phoenix cut the lead late in the second half to nine points, but the Norse responded with vigor. NKU outscored Green Bay 21-8 in the final 5:52 of the game.
 
FIRST HALF SUMMARY
  • The Norse used a 13-0 run to take a 34-20 lead with 5:53 to play in the half.
  • NKU went into intermission with a 43-28 advantage.
  • Vogt had a double-double with 11 points and 10 rebounds in the half.

  • The Phoenix were held to 11-of-24 (45.8 percent) from the floor. Green Bay also shot 3-of-10 (30.0 percent) from three-point range.
 
GAME NOTES
  • The Norse had several advantages over the Phoenix. NKU outrebounded Green Bay, 44-28, had a 56-28 advantage in points in the paint and registered 24 second-chance points compared to four for the Phoenix.
  • NKU also had a 19-5 advantage in assists in the contest.
  • The Norse held Green Bay to 20-of-52 (38.5 percent) shooting from the floor, including just 4-of-20 (20.0 percent) on attempts from behind the arc.
  • NKU improves to 12-0 at BB&T Arena this year and have now won 16-straight home games.
  • Northern Kentucky also improves to 12-0 when a Norse registers a double-double and 8-1 when the team converts at least 50 percent from the floor, as NKU made 52 percent (35-of-67) on the evening.
