HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. – Northern Kentucky University head men's basketball coach
Darrin Horn announces the signing of Trey Robinson and Marques Warrick, as the two standout prep players inked their National Letters of Intent on Wednesday to join the Norse for the 2020-21 campaign.
"We are excited that both young men come from winning high school programs," said Horn. "In addition, they bring high character that will be a tremendous addition to not only our program, but the NKU community as a whole."
Trey Robinson
- Robinson is from nearby Hamilton, Ohio, where he competes for the Hamilton Big Blue.
- As a junior, he averaged 11.6 points and 6.5 rebounds per game and was a Second Team All-GMC selection.
- Robinson played in all 22 games last season, registering double figures 15 times with pair of 20-point outbursts to his credit.
Horn on Robinson
"Trey brings great positional size and versatility as a player to our program. He has tremendous feel as a player and impacts the game on both ends in a multitude of ways. His ceiling for development is extremely high."
Marques Warrick
- Warrick hails from Henry Clay HS in Lexington, Kentucky, where he helped the Blue Devils to a 28-6 record as a junior, including a runner-up in the 11th-Region Finals.
- The second team all-conference performer averaged 22 points and 5.0 assists per game last season.
- Warrick plays travel basketball for Manimal Elite, the same program that produced current NKU Norse Tyler Sharpe.
Horn on Warrick
"Marques is a talented scorer whose greatest strengths are his shooting and basketball IQ. He can play both guard positions and will be excellent in our system playing in pick and roll action. With that said, what's exciting is he will only continue to develop both as a player and physically."
On the Norse
Northern Kentucky is 2-1 on the season and hosts Coppin State on Sunday, Nov. 17, for a 2 p.m. matinee at BB&T Arena. Sharpe leads a trio of Norse averaging double figures as the senior is pouring in 14.0 points per game.
Trevon Faulkner contributes 12.3 ppg and
Karl Harris adds 12.0 ppg.
