Last Time Out
Career-scoring nights from Walton and Faulkner weren't enough for the Norse, as NKU succumbed 98-96 in a double-overtime thriller versus Texas Southern. Walton registered his second career double-double with a career-best 33 points and 10 boards, while Faulkner used 9-of-16 shooting to set a new scoring mark with 24 points. Langdon dished a career-best nine assists. However, Texas Southern won the rebound battle 53-37 and outscored NKU 19-12 in second-chance points. Despite winning the turnover battle, 24-22, the Norse were outscored 23-16 in points off turnovers.
Scouting Midway (Ky.)
An NAIA school and member of the River States Conference, Midway is 3-5 on the year. The program, which is only four years old, has steadily improved each year, going from two wins (2016-17), to seven wins (2017-18), and then to 12 wins last season. Kwon Evans averages 18.5 point per game to pace the Eagles offensively thanks to 57-of-105 shooting (54 percent).
Series Stuff
Midway is one of eight first-time opponents for the Norse this season, joining Arkansas, Ball State, Coppin State, Illinois State, Mizzou, Texas Southern and UNC Greensboro. NKU dropped its decisions against Missouri, 71-56, and Texas Southern, 98-96 (double overtime), but defeated Coppin State, 82-70, and Ball State, 59-57 to sit at 2-2 against first-time opponents.
