HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. – The Northern Kentucky men's basketball team fell to Green Bay, 73-59 on Monday night at BB&T Arena. NKU falls to 9-5 on the year and is even in conference play at 1-1. Green Bay is now 6-9 on the year and also reaches .500 in the Horizon League at 1-1.

STATS LEADERS

  • Jalen Tate lead the Norse with 11 points on 5-of-10 (50 percent) shooting.
  • Trevon Faulkner also tallied double figures, finishing the night with 10 points.
  • Bryson Langdon scored nine points with a 3-for-6 (50 percent) clip. The sophomore also had four assists.

FIRST HALF SUMMARY

  • After a 10-0 Green Bay run to start off the game, Faulkner put the Norse on the scoreboard at the 15:06 mark with a pair of free throws. Langdon and Tate made shots shortly after to bring the Norse within two possessions.
  • Nelson completed an and-one after drawing a foul with 11:58 left. Green Bay then stretched the lead to 20-8, but Tre Cobbs made a free throw and Tate put in a layup to get NKU back within 10 points.
  • The Norse stayed within striking distance with the half winding down. A jumper by Sharpe with 5:15 to go made it 25-17 Green Bay
  • NKU capitalized on a shot-clock violation by Green Bay at the 3:33 mark. Tate drew a foul on the other side of the floor and sank the free throw opportunity for the three-point play. At that point, the Norse had hit five of their last six shots to trim the deficit down to 27-22.
  • At intermission, Green Bay lead NKU, 34-22. Tate lead the Norse with seven points in just 11 minutes played.

SECOND HALF SUMMARY

  • The Phoenix went on a 10-4 run to begin the new half. Bryant Mocaby hit a pair of free throws and Langdon had a jumper in the paint for NKU.
  • As Green Bay lead, 54-36, Tate dished assists on back-to-back possessions for the Norse with 10:51 and 9:46 left, respectively. The first dime by Tate helped Faulkner get the first Norse three-pointer of the night and the second found Silas Adheke for a layup in the post.
  • Cobbs saw success as the game reached its end. Beginning at the 5:16 mark, he had two-consecutive layups for NKU and another with 2:56 to go, making it 70-54 Green Bay.
  • Paul Djoko made a three-pointer and Karl Harris had a layup to close out the game.
