@NKUNorseTennis men host nearby Thomas More on Friday

HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. – Northern Kentucky's men's tennis is back on the court this Friday, Feb. 15, as the team hosts nearby Thomas More at Five Seasons Sports Club in Crestview Hills, Kentucky, the home indoor venue of both programs. First serve against the Saints is set for 6:30 p.m. ET.

The Norse most recently fell to regional rival Dayton in a 5-2 decision on Jan. 26. Blaine Carr and Felipe Hidalgo picked up points for NKU with wins in No. 4 and 6 singles, while Nathan Schwartz went to tiebreak against Langford Hills in the No. 2 spot before falling, 7-5, 6-7(6), 1-0. Carr currently holds a 3-1 record in singles action, with his only loss coming against Kentucky. In doubles, Jorge Rodriguez Agudo and Aleksander Sadal have seen success in the No. 1 spot, sporting a 2-2 record as a tandem.

The Saints are currently 4-4 on the year with dominant 9-0 victories over Berea, Muskingum and Shawnee State to go with a 5-4 win over Franklin. However, the team is on a three-match losing skid, picking up a combined two points against Campbellsville, Asbury and Cedarville. Derrick Kwok has been headlining singles with a 3-4 record on a team with a deep roster that has seen 11 different student-athletes in the lineup. The Saints have also been mixing up their doubles teams often, with Kwok and Jared Haught holding a 3-1 record as the top pairing.

NKU last faced Thomas More on Feb. 9, 2018, when the Norse blanked the Saints, 7-0.
