Glick moves into NKU’s all-time top-five for career 3-pointers at Wright State

DAYTON, Ohio – Northern Kentucky women's basketball fell to league-leading Wright State on the road, 78-56. The Norse dip to 7-17 overall and 6-8 in Horizon League play while the Raiders improve to 20-6 (12-2 Horizon).
 
STAT LEADERS
  • Molly Glick and Ally Niece both contributed 13 points for the Norse. Glick hit three 3-pointers in the contest, moving her to 136 made triples in her career. She moves into the all-time top-10 list for NKU, tying Lori McClellan (1989-93) for fourth all-time.
  • Grayson Rose led the Norse on the boards with seven rebounds, while Kailey Coffey and Niece added six apiece. Niece also added three assists to her stat line.
 
FIRST HALF SUMMARY
  • The Raiders shot an impressive 76.5 percent from the field in the opening quarter, outscoring the Norse 31-14. Niece dropped 10 points in the stanza to pace the team in scoring.
  • Wright State opened up the second quarter with a 12-0 run, but were slowed to just four more points in the half. The Raiders' shooting percentage also suffered a substantial dip as the team connected at 29.4 percent from the field.
  • Wright State held a 17-14 edge in rebounding and committed just four turnovers in the half. The Raiders scored 15 points off NKU's eight turnovers.
 
SECOND HALF SUMMARY
  • NKU continued to keep Wright State's offense at bay in the third, allowing the Raiders to score 15 points while the Norse added 12. The Raiders were also held to 29.4 percent and found less success inside as three of Wright State's field goals came from beyond the arc.
  • The Norse also outrebounded the Raiders in the third quarter, 14-13.
  • NKU outscored the Raiders in the fourth quarter, 19-18, shooting 38.9 percent from the field compared to 35.3 percent for Wright State.
 
NORSE NOTES
  • Wright State moves to 10-12 in the all-time series and has won each of the nine contests since NKU's transition to Division I.
  • The Raiders edged the Norse in their top statistic, pulling down 44 rebounds to NKU's 39. Wright State entered the contest averaging 44.5 rebounds per game to rank eighth nationally.
  • Wright State also held the advantage in most specialty stats, taking the battle in the paint 38-22 as well as the bench contributing 34 points.

  • NKU hosts Youngstown State, which is one game behind Wright State in the league standings after upending Green Bay on Friday evening. The tilt against the Penguins is set for 7 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 22, and the game will be broadcast on ESPN+.
