EMERSON, Ga. – The Northern Kentucky University baseball team fell in both games of a doubleheader against North Carolina A&T on Sunday. The Aggies edged NKU by scores of 3-0 and 4-3. The Norse fall to 0-6 on the year. North Carolina A&T improves to 5-1.
GAME ONE – North Carolina A&T 3, NKU 0
AT THE PLATE
ON THE MOUND
- Sam Williams (L, 0-2) got the start on the mound. He went six innings, allowing three runs (two earned) on six hits. He also struck out six batters.
- Cameron Ross pitched two scoreless innings in relief. He gave up just three hits and struck out two batters.
KEY MOMENTS
- North Carolina A&T put runners on second and third in the third inning, but NKU got out of the jam to keep the game scoreless.
- The Aggies scored three runs in the bottom of the seventh inning to go ahead 3-0. An error allowed a run to score, and AJ Hunt hit a two-run single in the frame.
GAME TWO – North Carolina A&T 4, NKU 3

- Kyle Service (L, 0-1) earned the start for NKU. He pitched five innings, allowing four runs on five hits. He also struck out a pair of batters.
- Jake Dennis allowed just one hit in 1.1 innings of work.
- Kaleb Meeks pitched 1.2 scoreless innings, giving up a hit.
KEY MOMENTS
- The Norse took a 3-0 lead in the top of the second. Doersching doubled down the left field line to score Bacon. Doersching came home on double by Kain, and Kain crossed the plate on a single by Luty.
- North Carolina A&T went ahead 4-3 in the bottom of the fifth. Dustin Baber hit a solo home run, and Hunt added a three-run homer.
