CINCINNATI, Ohio – Northern Kentucky men's tennis fell to cross-river foe Xavier on Sunday evening, 5-2. The Norse drop to 2-6 on the season while Xavier improves to 3-8.
Match Notables
- Xavier claimed the opening point with wins in No. 1 and 3 doubles.
- The Musketeers scored the next three points to clinch the match with victories in No. 3, 5 and 1 singles.
- NKU got wins out of No. 2 and 4 singles. In the No. 2 spot, Nathan Schwartz defeated Jack Dykema, 6-4, 7-6. Jorge Rodriguez Agudo blanked Connor LaFavre in the first set of No. 4 singles before winning an extended second set, 7-5. Both Schwartz and Rodriguez Agudo went 2-0 in singles action this weekend.
The Norse will hit the road next weekend for a final tune-up before Horizon League play. NKU will make a stop in Columbus to take on the College of Wooster at 1 p.m. on Friday, March 1. The Norse then play at Niagara in Niagara Falls, New York. First serve is set for 4 p.m. on Saturday, March 2.
