HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. – The Northern Kentucky men's basketball team, which sits second in the league standings, has guaranteed itself a home quarterfinal game for the 2019 Horizon League Basketball Championship.
Quarterfinal matchups in the Horizon League Basketball Championship this season are hosted by the top four seeds of the tournament. The semifinals and finals will then be held at Little Caesars Arena in Detroit, March 11-12.
NKU is 11-5 in league play, trailing Wright State by one game in the league standings but two games ahead of Green Bay, Oakland and UIC, which are tied for third at 9-7. The Norse secured hosting the quarterfinal because Oakland and UIC will play one another during the final weekend of competition, meaning at least one of those two teams cannot catch Northern Kentucky in the standings.
Tickets are $14 for adults and $9 for children (ages 3-17) and can be purchased through
Ticketmaster. Current men's basketball season-ticket holders can reserve their seats through the end of the day Wednesday, Feb. 27, at which point any seats held by season-ticket holders not reserved for the quarterfinal contest will be released for public sale. Questions concerning tickets can be directed to
Micki Ford, Coordinator of Athletics Ticketing, at (859) 572-7848 or
fordm10@nku.edu.
