CRESTVIEW HILLS, Ky. – Northern Kentucky men's tennis got off to a strong start in Horizon League play, downing rival Wright State in a 5-2 decision. The Norse have won three-straight matches to sit at 5-6 overall, while the Raiders drop to 7-12.

- NKU switched its doubles lineup up, and it paid off with the Norse securing the opening point. Aleksander Sadal and Anthony Bosch teamed up for the first time this year and posted a 6-4 win over Theo Bourghelle and Javier Alvarez in the No. 2 spot. The Raiders tied it up with a win in No. 3 doubles, but Blaine Carr and Nathan Schwartz, who slid into the top flight for the first time this season, clinched the opening point with a 7-5 win over Param Pun and Lorenzo Maccarini.
- Chris Murray was the first Norse to finish singles play with a 6-2, 6-3 win over Leighton Brandon in No. 6 singles.
- Carr put the Norse within striking distance with his win over Maccarini in the No. 3 singles match, downing his opponent in 6-4 sets.
- Schwartz sealed the victory out of the second flight, defeating Fernando Nardelli in three sets, 6-1, 3-6, 6-3.
- NKU tacked on one more win in the No. 4 spot as Jorge Rodriguez Agudo posted a three-set win over Alvarez, 7-6(2) 2-6, 6-1.
NKU returns home next weekend when it hosts IUPUI and UIC on Friday, March 29 and Saturday, March 30, respectively.
