Milwaukee takes series finale against @NKUNorseBSB, 6-2

HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. – The Northern Kentucky University baseball team fell to Milwaukee in the series finale on Sunday by a final score of 6-2. The Norse fall to 4-16 overall and 3-3 in Horizon League play. Milwaukee moves to 12-8 on the season and 4-2 in the league.
 
 
AT THE PLATE  
ON THE MOUND
  • Kyle Arganbright (L, 0-2) got the start on the mound. He allowed six runs on 10 hits and a walk, while striking out a batter.
  • Jake Dennis pitched a third of an inning.
  • Cameron Ross went on to the mound and threw 2.2 scoreless innings, striking out four batters while allowing a walk.
  • Noah Richardson came out of the bullpen and pitched a scoreless ninth inning.
 
 
KEY MOMENTS
  • The Norse took a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the first. Sam Hedges doubled to start the frame, moved over to third on a groundout, and scored on an RBI single by Bacon.
  • Milwaukee loaded the bases with no outs in the second inning, but NKU escaped the jam without allowing a run. Bacon fielded a ball at third base and threw it to home for the first out of the inning. In the next at-bat, the Norse recorded a double play to end the top half of the frame. Arganbright secured a ground ball, and tossed it to catcher Jayden Wakeham. Wakeham then threw the ball to Will Haueter at first base for the third out.
  • The Panthers went ahead 4-1 in the top of the third. Joe Vyskocil hit an RBI single, Mitchell Buban scored on an RBI groundout, and Colin Kreiter added a two-run single.
  • Milwaukee added two runs in the fourth to go ahead 6-1. Buban hit a two-run triple in the frame.
  • The Norse got a run back in the bottom half of the fourth to make the score 6-2. Luty hit an RBI double down the right field line to score Fisher.
 
GAME NOTES
  • Milwaukee had a 10-7 advantage in hits.
  • The Panthers were charged with one error, while NKU had none.
  • The Norse left 10 runners on base, and Milwaukee stranded nine.
 
UP NEXT
  • NKU returns home to face Butler in nonconference action on Tuesday, March 26 at 3 p.m. NKU President Ashish Vaidya will be throwing out the ceremonial first pitch as part of his inauguration week.
