CRESTVIEW HILLS, Ky. – Northern Kentucky men's tennis fell to UIC on Saturday evening, 5-2. The Norse drop to 5-8 overall and 1-2 in Horizon League play while the Flames move to 2-11 (1-0 Horizon).
Match Notables
- UIC won the opening point with wins on the second and third doubles courts. In the top flight, Blaine Carr and Nathan Schwartz moved to 2-0 out of the No. 1 spot, downing Niko Wasilewicz and William Wale, 6-4.
- The Flames clinched the match with wins in No. 5, 1 and 6 singles.
- Nathan Schwartz was the next to finish, claiming NKU's first point of the match with a straight-set win over Wasilewicz in No. 2 singles, 7-5, 6-3. Schwartz went 2-0 on the weekend and moves to a seven-match winning streak.
- Jorge Rodriguez Agudo also delivered a win for the Norse, defeating Kailash Panchapakesan in the No. 4 singles match, 7-5, 6-4. He extends his current winning streak to six matches.
- Blaine Carr was the third Norse to win a set against a Flame, but ultimately fell in three sets to Casper Parlklo in the No. 3 singles match, 6-2, 3-6, 6-1.
NKU hits the road for its lone Horizon League match away from home next weekend. The Norse will face Green Bay on Sunday, April 7, with first serve set for 10 a.m. CT/11 ET.
