Alabama takes first game of weekend series against @NKUNorseBSB

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – The Northern Kentucky University baseball team fell to Alabama on Friday by a final score of 15-1. The Norse fall to 1-9, while Alabama moves to 13-2.
 
AT THE PLATE  
ON THE MOUND
  • Sam Williams (L, 0-4) got the start and pitched 4.1 innings. He struck out three hitters and walked three batters.
  • Proctor Mercer came out of the bullpen in the fifth inning. He pitched 1.2 innings, striking out two batters without allowing a walk.
  • Noah Richardson went out to the mound in the seventh inning. He threw two innings, allowing just one run while striking out three batters.
 
KEY MOMENTS
  • Alabama went ahead 5-0 in the bottom of the second inning. T.J. Reeves hit an RBI double in the frame, and Joe Breaux and Brett Auerbach added RBI singles. A balk allowed Breaux to score, and Auerbach crossed the plate on a double by Tyler Gentry.
  • The Crimson Tide took a 7-0 lead in the bottom of the third. Reeves hit a two-run homer in the frame.
  • Alabama added seven runs in the fifth inning to go ahead 14-0.
  • The Norse scored a run in the top of the seventh. Fisher singled with one out in the inning, and he moved to third on a double by Wakeham. Fisher crossed the plate in the next at-bat on a sacrifice fly by Paradis.
  • Alabama scored another run in the bottom of the eighth. Johnny Hawk came home on an RBI single by Isaiah Byers.
