GREEN BAY, Wis. – Northern Kentucky men's tennis fell on the road at Green Bay on Sunday afternoon, 5-2. With the loss, NKU drops to 5-9 overall and 1-3 in Horizon League play while the Phoenix move on to 6-11 (2-2 Horizon).
Match Notables
- The Phoenix won the opening point with doubles wins on the No. 1 and 3 courts.
- Green Bay delivered a trio of wins in No. 2, 6 and 5 singles to clinch the victory over the Norse.
- Nathan Schwartz moved up to the No. 1 spot for the first time against a Division I opponent and picked up his eighth-straight victory. He dropped the first set to James Ling, 6-3, but took a 6-4 second set and won the deciding pro set, 10-8.
- Jorge Rodriguez Agudo also extended his winning streak with a straight-set win over Dipin Wadhwa in No. 4 singles, 7-6, 6-3. He has now won seven matches in a row.
NKU returns home next weekend for its final pair of regular-season matches. The Norse will first host Youngstown State on Friday, April 12 at 11 a.m. before taking on Cleveland State at 11 a.. on Saturday, April 13.
