McDonald garners Lou Henson All-American honors

HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky.Drew McDonald collected a second-straight nod to the Lou Henson All-America Team, reserved for the nation's best mid-major players. The award comes on the heels of recognition as an AP All-American Honorable Mention last week.

McDonald averaged 18.7 points and 9.4 rebounds per game in leading Northern Kentucky to a 26-9 overall record as well as the 2019 Horizon League Regular-Season and Tournament Championships, which included a trip to the NCAA Tournament. He was named the 2019 Horizon League Player of the Year and is three-time all-league first team performer. McDonald was also named a Senior CLASS Second Team honoree.

Over the course of his four-year career, McDonald essentially rewrote the Norse record books and put himself in elite company within the Horizon League. He closed his Norse career as the program's all-time leader in scoring (2,066 points) and rebounding (1,081), making him just one of three players in the 40-year history of the Horizon League to earn a spot in the 2,000-point, 1,000-rebound club.

McDonald most recently competed for the West squad in the Reese's College All-Star Game, presented by the National Association of Basketball Coaches, where he scored six points and added five rebounds. He also took part in the Dos Equis 3x3U Championship throughout the weekend.
