INDIANAPOLIS – Four members of the Northern Kentucky University baseball team earned recognition on All-Horizon League Teams the league office announced on Tuesday.
Will Haueter garnered second team distinction, while
Noah Fisher,
Sam Hedges and
Jayden Wakeham were named to the all-freshman team.
This marks the second-straight season Haueter has earned a spot on an all-league team after the redshirt senior was a first team member last year. Haueter leads the Norse and ranks 13
th in the league with a .310 batting average and his 40 runs scored are the 10
th-highest in the league standings. His 37 RBI are second-most on the team as well.
Fisher has earned 48 starts in 50 games played for NKU, batting .229 with 23 runs and 11 RBI. Hedges hit .232 during the regular season, driving in 13 runs and scoring 22 times across 48 games, including 40 starts. Wakeham appeared in 43 contests, starting 33 times. He batted .243 with 13 runs scored and seven RBI.
Northern Kentucky, which earned the four seed in the upcoming Horizon League Championship, faces the fifth-seeded Oakland in the opening round of the tournament. First pitch is scheduled for noon on Wednesday, May 22.
