HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. – Northern Kentucky's men's tennis is set to open up its fall season in the Dayton Hidden Dual on September 14
th and 15
th. The event is hosted by the University of Dayton.
NKU is coming off the spring season with a record of 5-12. The Norse return six players from last season, losing just one to graduation.
Nathan Schwartz, a Horizon League All-Freshman Team honoree, returns for his sophomore season after sporting nine singles victories in the spring, sliding in to the No. 1 singles slot late in the year.
Jorge Rodriguez Agudo posted the most victories for the Norse, primarily out of the No. 4 singles spot, and racked up 10 singles and nine doubles wins.
Along with Dayton, common Norse opponents Xavier and Wright State will also be competing. Dayton returns only one of its top-three singles players from last year, Steven Karl. Karl had 19 single wins while also notching 16 doubles victories last season. Xavier returns two top singles players, Michael Lee and Matthew Graft who both tallied 11 wins.
Against both Dayton and Xavier, NKU has won two out of seven matches while beating Wright State head-to-head with five wins versus two losses.
