HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. – The Northern Kentucky men's soccer team tied Marshall, 1-1, on Monday night at NKU Soccer Stadium.
Â
"This was quite a spectacle and I'm sure the fans enjoyed it more than the coaching staffs did," said head coach
Stu Riddle. "We'll take a lot of positives from it, although I think we're disappointed that we didn't find that second goal, and ultimately that winning goal, having 20 shots."

- Urgency started to set in past the 70th minute mark as Connor Probert had three shots on goal, as well as a blocked shot.
- The first overtime period was uneventful. Neither team recorded a shot on goal, although both teams had attacking plays that made it into the penalty area.
- NKU and Marshall had close calls in the final overtime period. The Thundering Herd had a shot from Jamil Roberts go high and NKU had several opportunities via corner kick that didn't pan out.
Â
NORSEÂ NOTES
- Probert's five shots on goal is the most since Willis had four in an Oct. 13, 2018 matchup against Detroit Mercy. His ten total shots easily make him the team's shot leader after eight players registered a shot apiece in the season opener at Grand Canyon.
- This is NKU's first draw since a scoreless Oct. 14, 2017 matchup with UIC.
- For the second-consecutive season, a freshman has scored the first NKU goal of the year. Alex Willis had the first a year ago in an August 25th game at Bowling Green.

UP NEXT
- The Norse begin a two-game road trip to Western New York on Friday as they take on Niagara at 7:00 p.m. Two days later, they'll head south to take on Canisius at 1:00 p.m.
