HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. – Northern Kentucky's men's basketball game at Green Bay on Friday, Jan. 31, has been chosen by ESPN to air on ESPNU. The Phoenix will host the game in their on-campus facility, the Kress Center, with tip-off set for 9 p.m. (ET)/8 p.m. (CT).
 
Four Norse basketball games will air nationally on the ESPN family of networks now this season. Last Friday's matchup at UIC, which NKU won 69-52, aired on ESPN2. Both the home and away contests versus Wright State are scheduled to air on ESPNU. Since the 2016-17 season, Northern Kentucky has gone 7-6 in nationally-televised games, which includes two NCAA Tournament and one NIT matchup.
 
NKU is 12-6 on the season, which includes a 4-2 mark that has the Norse sitting alone in third place in the Horizon League. Green Bay is in sixth-place, 1.5 games behind Northern Kentucky with a 2-3 league record and 7-11 overall mark.
 
Veteran leadership guides the Norse, with senior Dantez Walton averaging a team-best 18.4 points per game. Fellow senior Tyler Sharpe scores at a 15.4 points-per-game clip. The duo has combined to post seven 30-point scoring performances this season, led by four from Sharpe. Redshirt-junior Jalen Tate contributes 9.8 points, 4.5 rebounds and 4.5 assists per game, while Trevon Faulkner adds 12.4 ppg.
 
A pair of home games at BB&T Arena against Youngstown State on Thursday and Cleveland State on Saturday are next on the ledger for Northern Kentucky.
 
Thursday's matchup with the Penguins is faculty/staff appreciation night, which features two free tickets for Northern Kentucky University's faculty and staff with an NKU ID. YSU is currently second in the league standings, a half game in front of the Norse.
 
Saturday's contest against Cleveland State features $9 tickets for residents of Boone County (with proof of residence) and the first 500 fans in attendance will receive a Northern Kentucky hat. Braxton Happy Hour begins in the Braxton Beer Garden when doors open at 6 p.m.
