COLUMBUS, Ohio – Northern Kentucky men's tennis opened up their 2020 season with a 7-0 loss on the road Wednesday morning to No. 6 Ohio State.
Match Notables
- Ohio State claimed all three doubles matchups to take the opening point. Each NKU duo won at least one game, with Nathan Schwartz and Emilien Burnel seeing success against the nation's second-ranked team, falling to John McNally and Robert Cash in a 6-3 decision.
- The Buckeyes won each of the singles matches in straight sets.
- Schwartz and Burnel each took on an opponent ranked in the ITA's top-25. Schwartz dropped a 6-3, 6-1 decision to No. 16 Cannon Kingsley in the No. 1 singles match, while Burnel fell, 6-0, 6-3 to No. 24 McNally in No. 2 singles.
