HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. – Northern Kentucky's men's tennis will play cross-river rival Xavier on Friday, January 24 in its home opener. The Norse will take to the court at 7 p.m. at Five Seasons Sports Club in Crestview Hills, Kentucky.
With one match under their belt, the Norse are hoping for their first win of the year and look to snap a 21-match losing streak against the Musketeers. NKU's last win over Xavier came in the 1985-86 season, when the Norse narrowly edged the Musketeers, 5-4. Both NKU and Xavier lost to No. 6 Ohio State, 7-0 this season.
Xavier's men had an overall record of 6-15 for the 2019 season and sit at 0-2 this year. The Musketeers opened up their season falling 6-1 to Ball State. The Norse will be Xavier's first of four-straight Horizon League opponents, as the Musketeers later take on Wright State, Cleveland State, and IUPUI.
