HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. – Northern Kentucky's Marques Warrick picked up the first Nike Horizon League Men's Basketball Freshman of the Week honor of the season following his performance in NKU's opening-night win over Ball State.

The Lexington, Kentucky native stuffed the stat sheet for the Norse, posting 14 points, four rebounds, four assists and one steal in his debut. Warrick played 35 minutes and, with just one turnover, produced an impressive 4:1 assist-to-turnover ratio.

Warrick earns the ninth Horizon League Freshman of the Week honor all-time for a Norse, and the first since the final award of the 2017-18 campaign. 

NKU is 1-0 on the young season, defeating Ball State, 74-73.
