LEXINGTON, Ky. – Northern Kentucky men's tennis fell 4-0 at Kentucky on Friday, dropping to 0-4 overall. The Wildcats improve to 7-2.
Match Notables
- UK claimed the doubles point with 6-1 wins in No. 2 and No. 3 doubles.
- Nathan Schwartz challenged UK's Cesar Bourgouis in the first set of No. 1 singles, but just came up short in an extended set, 7-5. Bourgouis went on to claim the win in the second set, 6-3.
- Andrew Niehaus also had a competitive opening set against Gabriel Diallo in the No. 2 singles match, but fell 6-4, 6-2. Along with a win in No. 4 singles, the Wildcats clinched the match.
- Each Norse won at least two games in each set of singles play, with the first set of each match being won by just two games. In the No. 5 singles match, freshman Brandon Ponomarew trailed just 4-3 when the match was abandonex.
