HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. – The weekly accolades continue to pour in for Northern Kentucky's Marques Warrick, who collected his fourth Horizon League Men's Basketball Freshman of the Week honor this season.
In Saturday's game at League-leading Cleveland State, Warrick exploded for a new career-high scoring mark with 25 points. He converted 8-of-15 field goal attempts as well as all six tries from the charity stripe.
The 25 points marked Warrick's third 20-plus scoring outburst in the last four games, joining the back-to-back 22-point performances against Purdue Fort Wayne. Across the four-game span, the Lexington, Kentucky, native is averaging 19.0 points per game
Warrick has now claimed back-to-back freshman of the week honor twice this season. He opened the 2020-21 campaign winning the first two. Of the seven honors handed out so far this year, the Norse have earned five of them. David Böhm collected the honor in the third week of the season.
Northern Kentucky is 5-6 on the season and 3-3 in Horizon League play. It hosts IUPUI in a two-game set at BB&T Arena on Friday, Jan. 15 and Saturday, Jan. 16.
