MILWAUKEE – The Northern Kentucky women's soccer team was downed by Milwaukee Sunday afternoon 1-0. NKU falls to 8-6-2 on the year and 6-3 in the Horizon League. Milwaukee improves to 14-1 overall and 9-0 in conference play.

"We competed for the entire 90 minutes and created multiple opportunities to score. We need to continue to improve in a number of areas if we are to achieve our goals. We will utilize the Fall Break to rest and recover. We look forward to the opportunity to finish the Horizon League regular season on a strong note."

Mimi Stines (7-6-2) was in goal for the Norse as she totaled four saves and faced a total of 19 shots from Milwaukee.
· Elaina LaMacchia (13-1) was the starting goalkeeper for the Panthers today. LaMacchia posted a shutout victory after making seven saves and facing 12 shots.
Match Summary
· The Panthers posted the first shot of the afternoon in the 2' that missed to the left.
· NKU took its opening shot in the 10' from
Kaya Vogt that was saved by LaMacchia.
· Milwaukee got on the board in the 10' however as Schill did it herself to find the back of the net.

Lindsey Meyer attempted back-to-back shots in the 13' and 14' that missed both left and over the net.
· Meyer looked to test the Panther goalkeeper again in the 32' as she aimed to the upper right corner of the goal but saw the shot saved.
· Milwaukee finished the opening half off with a shot in the 44' that missed wide right.

Annie Greene had a go at the Milwaukee goal in the 60' as she aimed low and center, but the shot was stopped by LaMacchia.
· Meyer continued to create chances at the Panthers goal, firing a shot in the 88' that forced the Milwaukee keeper to make the save.
· Meyer once again blasted a shot towards the Milwaukee goal in the 90' that missed out to the right.
Norse Notes
· Milwaukee out-shot the Norse 19-11 overall in this contest. However, NKU posted more shots on goal with seven compared to the six of the Panthers.
· The Panthers were very aggressive in this match, totaling 12 fouls, whereas the Norse complied only eight.
· Meyer led the Norse today with a match-high seven shots, three of which were on goal.

NKU returns to Highland Heights for the final regular-season home match of the 2021 season on Saturday, Oct. 23 with kickoff slated for 1 p.m. This match will also be senior day for the Norse.
