Late Green Bay goal spoils senior day for @NKUNorseWSOC

HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. – The Northern Kentucky women's soccer team was defeated in the final regular season home match of the year by Green Bay Saturday afternoon. The Norse drop to 8-7-2 on the year and 6-4 in Horizon League play. The Phoenix improve to 7-1-6 overall and 4-1-5 in conference action. 
 
Scoring Summary
·     The game winner from Green Bay came from Jordyn Cook in the 88' and was assisted by Emily Murphy and Maria Wiefering. 

Between the Posts
·      Mimi Stines (7-7-2) played the full 90 minutes in goal for the Norse, making four saves and saw a total of 11 shots. 
·      Annie Mason (6-6-1) earned the shutout victory after making four saves as well and faced nine total shots. 

Match Summary
·      Green Bay posted the first shot of this contest as Sarah Teubner tested Stines in the 9' off a free kick. 
·      The Norse saw its opening shot in the 9' as well with Annie Greene firing off a shot low towards the Phoenix goalkeeper. 
·      GB saw another attempt in the 16' as Murphy missed high. 
·      Lindsey Meyer tallied her first shot of the day in the 26' as her shot was blocked.  
·      The Phoenix saw its last real attempt on goal in the half in the 30' with Teubner aiming low and to the right but was scooped up by Stines. 
·      Green Bay recorded the first shot of the second half with Murphy missing to the right in the 46'.
·      NKU saw an opportunity on goal off a free kick from Morgan Jewell that was deflected by the Phoenix in the 54'.

·      Wiefering was issued a yellow card in the 66'. 
·      Megan Sullivan had an attempt on goal for NKU in the 67' but the low shot was saved by Mason. 
·      Sofia Wilmes was booked in the 86' with a yellow card. 
·      Green Bay found its game winner in the 88' with a strike from Cook towards the upper right corner of the net and was assisted by Murphy and Wiefering. 

Norse Notes
·      Green Bay out-shot NKU 11-9 during this conference battle. 
·      Each program finished the day with five shots on goal. 
·      Both of these squads ended the day with two corner kicks each as well.

The Norse will close out the regular season on the road against Horizon League-rival Wright State. Northern Kentucky will kickoff against the Raiders Wednesday, Oct. 27 at 7 p.m.
