HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. – Northern Kentucky's Miranda Wucherer and Anna Brinkmann were named to the Horizon League All-Academic Team the league office announced on Tuesday afternoon. This marks Wucherer's third-straight appearance on the team while Brinkmann collected the honor for the first time in her career.
 
In addition to representing NKU on the league's all-academic team each of the last three years now, Wucherer also garnered recognition on the CoSIDA Academic All-District Team in 2020. She holds a 4.00 GPA as a double major in Finance and Sports Business & Event Management. In competition in 2020, Wucherer earned a spot on the Horizon League First Team. The Brookfield, Wisconsin, native ranks fifth among active NCAA Division I players with nine career triple doubles.
 
Although this marks her first postseason academic honor, Brinkmann is no stranger to awards. She has twice been named to the All-Horizon League First Team and is a 2020 AVCA All-Region Honorable Mention recipient. The native of Mason, Ohio, recently broke into NKU's 1,000-kill, 1,000-dig club. Brinkmann sports a 3.63 GPA in Social Work.
 
NKU is headed into postseason play this weekend when it makes its eighth-straight conference semifinals appearance as the No. 2 seed in the Horizon League Tournament. The Norse play on Saturday, Nov. 20 at 9 p.m. (ET)/8 p.m. (CT) against the highest remaining seed advancing from the quarterfinals.
