Northern Kentucky Women’s Volleyball earns AVCA Team Academic Award

LEXINGTON, Ky. – Northern Kentucky University Norse women's volleyball earned a high academic honor on Thursday, as the Norse were named a recipient of the AVCA Team Academic Award. Northern Kentucky has now earned the award for eleven straight seasons, dating back to 2016. 

"We are proud of our players' hard work in the classroom, which has earned our team its 11th consecutive Team Academic Award," said Norse head coach Liz Hart. "We are also grateful for the support of our academic staff in helping our student-athletes achieve their goals both in the classroom and on the court." 

Northern Kentucky saw a pair of student-athletes selected to last year's Horizon League All-Academic honors, as Lucy Cluxton was named to the All-Academic Team while Allison Risley was tabbed an honorable mention. Overall, 12 student-athletes were named to the Horizon League Honor Roll in Spring 2026. 

To earn the honor, teams must achieve a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.30 or better for the entire 2025-26 academic year.
